Adoption Resource: SharePoint is Nice Nice Baby + Social Style Remix #esn #yammer

We all know that driving sustainable SharePoint adoption is no easy task. Having worked with organizations large and small in the last 10 years, I discovered that the 3 main goals of driving sustainable adoption is to drive excitement, facilitate change and be able to empower users. If you want to learn more on how to drive sustainable SharePoint adoption,  here’s an article I wrote for CMSWire.

One of the techniques I employ when delivering SharePoint training or presentations is to sing/rap. Why you may ask? here’s three reasons why I do it.

Most recently, I have gotten a couple of requests asking for a copy of my latest “remix” that I performed at SharePoint Conference 2012 and SHARE Conference Australia 2012 – It’s a remix of a couple of songs that I think y’all are familiar with:

(thanks to DJ Kevin for the fantastic remix)

So if you would like to use this for your training/adoption initiatives, GO FOR IT! Here are the resources for you:

Enjoy! Let me know what you think!

5 Steps to Best Engage at Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2013 in Houston #wpc13 #mspartner

1 more day to go and it’s the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2013 in Houston! Over 16,000 people are expected to attend this annual event! It’s quite overwhelming and you may be at a loss on how to best connect and engage with your fellow attendees.

I’ve been fortunate to have attended multiple WPC events in the last few years and here are the 5 steps I learned on how to best engage with folks at WPC:

Step 1: Connect with Social Media

A lot of the real-time WPC13 updates and communications happens in social media specifically on Twitter. If you don’t have a Twitter account, go ahead and create one now. Then start following the official WPC account, the #WPC13 hashtag and if you like, follow me as well 😉 Also, check out the latest #WPC13 stats.

If you want to learn more on how to best maximize social media at #WPC13, check out this 15-min video I created for Microsoft Project Conference 2012:

Step 2: Setup your WPC Connect profile

With WPC connect, you can setup your profile and find out who else is attending. You can reach out to folks and schedule meetings at the event.

Microsoft Outlook

Step 3: Schedule sessions and see who’s attending

Once you’ve setup your WPC Connect profile, use the session and meeting scheduler to schedule sessions you want to attend. Even better, you can interact with the speaker and session attendees prior to the session directly on the session page:

VMware FusionI’d also like to invite you to attend some of the sessions that I am delivering:

Step 4: Network, network, network

There’s lots of great opportunities to meet and network! From the session rooms, to the dining hall and even the hallways. This year, you can even connect with fellow partners at the WPC13 Commons

Step 5: Participate in after hour activities

As you may already know, connecting with your fellow WPC13 attendees doesn’t end after the daily sessions end. There are a lot of after hour activities during WPC.  I’d like to invite you to these  after hour events:

Sun, Jul 7: 7pM-10pm WPC13 SharePint

Wed, Jul 10: 5:30pm-8pm HSPUG Fundraiser for SnowDrop Foundation

Stay tuned on social for last minute parties and happenings. I guarantee that it will be a lot of fun! Check out how much fun I had during #WPC11 Enterprise Party:
